everyone leaves eventually

Hello & goodbye.

Im sure each and everyone of us have experienced countless farewells in our life. Some goodbyes are easier than others. Just like the empty seats on an early weekday at Siem Reap International Airport, at one point in our life, we may realize that our friends that have once shared or squeezed the seats with, will have to get up and leave their seats one day. Because everyone leaves eventually. Their time to move forward has arrived.

But question is, am i moving forward? That, is still a mystery.

Feeling Soupy @ KLIA2

Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) is one of the biggest shopping mall in the world with 225 retail outlets, 81 lots for food and beverages. Fast foods, rice & noodles, fruit juices, coffee shops, organic foods, light snacks…and the list goes on.

But what if you are feeling unwell on the day, and you aren’t in the mood for any meal with heavy carbs, not even coffee, you want something savoury, and non-fried stuffs instead?

I was hunting for a hot cup of soup to soothe my inflamed throat. After walking around and checking out most of the restaurant’s menus, I finally found a place where they offered soup – DOME Cafe (departure level).

I ordered myself a wild mushroom soup (RM21) . Other available options are broccoli or minestrone soup. All topped with croutons and served with fresh garlic toast. What more can you ask for when you’re feeling sick? Thankful for a warm, comfort and hearty soup.

Now, Im ready to fly.

Rainforest Boutique Hotel, Chiang Mai

rainforest1

I love Chiang Mai. It’s been 4 years since I last visited the beautiful city. Itinerary was made months ahead, so we could make full use of our available days, both in Chiang Mai & Pai (a town located in northern Thailand).

Rainforest Boutique Hotel is located about 15mins away from Chiang Mai International Airport, and 3km away from the local waroros market. But fret not, the hotel offers transportation from the airport to their hotel. All you need to do is contact them in advanced to arrange your transportation.

The front desk staffs were all friendly, cleanliness of the rooms were acceptable and air-conditioner was working well (important to regain coolness after a hot day out). If you ever find issues with your room air-conditioner, you can always bring it up to the front desk staffs, and i believe they are more than willing to change a new room for you.

Buffet style breakfast was also included, between early morning until 10am. A mixture of western & thai food was available to choose from. Basic simple food from toast, sunny side up, pancake, bacon to thai style pork & vegetable, soup and some fruits to fill up your tummy in the morning before heading to the town.

Although some parts of the hotel looked a little aged, we were happy with our rustic rainforest style accommodation for the value we paid.
